Overwhelmed

June 1, 2011

People like our soap.  And suddenly a LOT of people want to buy it, so much so I have more orders than I can possibly fill fast enough!!  Trust me it’s not a bad problem to have, but it tends to start to snowball problems if I can’t catch up.  The last 2 weeks between tornadoes, hail storms, loss of power and a family death, shipping as been behind.  I am grateful to have had the help I did but now I am back to being alone doing all the of packing, wrapping, making, shipping and answering the phone.   I think people forget MoSoap is just a small little business and I don’t have a separate shipping department.  One lady on the phone told me I should hire more people.  Good advice but then the price of soap is going to go up for workmen’s comp and insurance.  I make MoSoap products because I like to and when it gets too much, well I slow down.  One thing I have learned, if I am unhappy or tired when I make a batch of soap, it never ever turns out right – my grandmother calls it having a “low soap light” on.  Well, my soap light is dim and I need some time to catch up.

So for those of you that still want to order and don’t mind a wait, please feel free to order on line as usual and use the coupon code of JUN2011 for 15% off.  The catch is you will have to wait a minimum of 2 weeks for your order as it stands right now.  This coupon code is good until the 7th of Jun when I expect to have the previous orders filled first and shipped off.  I am not accepting phone orders at all and our message machine will state we are closed until the 8th of June.

Thanks so much for everyone’s patience while I took some time off to deal with the death of my God-son that has lived with us for 10 years.  I would really like to thank my friends and family for taking over the business while I handled everything.  Some orders shipped right away, other are taking a bit longer because not everyone can read my mind and know how I do things!  Everytime I take time off, I learn how much more I have to write down to make it easier on others.  Again, I truly appreciate everyone’s patience and kindness.

Can’t log on 4/28/11

April 28, 2011

Our store and entire email system is with Yahoo Webstores and right now they are upgrading their system.  Since yesterday we have been unable to log in to our account to either read emails or check orders.  Please bare with us if you have asked a question, ordering or just saying hi.  According to Yahoo it will just take a few more hours as this is the message I recieve from them every time I log on……

“We are in the process of upgrading all of our Yahoo! Mail servers as part of our ongoing efforts to give you the best Mail service possible. There is no need to complete this form because we already know that you’ve received this error. It is temporary and should clear up within a couple of hours.  Thanks!”

New Sign in option

April 13, 2011

Starting today you’ll notice on the upper right hand corner of our banner two new links – SIGN IN  and REGISTER.  Since we use the Yahoo Stores shopping platform, they have new added this new feature where you are able to log in with your Yahoo, Google or AOL ids (called OpenIDs).  This is what Yahoo says are the benefits to you:

  • Register  at MoSoap.com using using their existing Yahoo!, Google, or AOL user ID. Since our registration system uses OpenID,  customers won’t have to remember additional user IDs or passwords.
  • Sign in to enjoy a faster, more efficient checkout experience, with stored shipping and billing addresses pre-populated on checkout pages.
  • Access your order information, order history, shipping status and tracking number(s) by signing into your account, instead of contacting the store merchant (MoSoap) for this information.
  • Easily re-order items with one click.
  • Update their shipping and billing address(es), and other profile information at any time.

Please do NOT feel you must to register!  You will have the option to sign in as a GUEST and that will make the system act as it always has – no storing of your address for future order or things like that.

Hopefully this will make it easier for everyone to shop as I know many people email us and asked “What was that type of soap I ordered last time?” This just might make it a bit easier

No more Newsletters

April 12, 2011

It’s spring here in Missouri and everything is starting to look alive again after a long, cold winter.  My health is back, my bees are buzzing, the woodland flowers are poking up and the apple tree is blooming – so it’s all good here.

After receiving several emails from customers that have signed up for our mailing list saying they never receive them (did you know we try to send a newsletter every other month?) and after receiving 3 emails from large on-line stores saying their email service had been hacked into, I made the decision yesterday to delete our email newsletter account.   We were happy with Constant Contact who we used.  From now on, anytime there’s a special or news, I’ll just post here on the blog.  You can have updates sent to your inbox by using the RSS Feed so no added spam hopefully.  Hope that makes things simpler for everyone.  We’ve just seem to suddenly have a lot of bounced emails, or people saying they never hear from us when we email back – have to think this might reduce some of the problems.
